The Hong Kong Observatory has also issued the first Very Hot Weather Warning of the year. An anticyclone aloft is covering the northern part of the South China Sea and the coast of Guangdong, bringing very hot weather. The Observatory issued the first Very Hot Weather Warning of the year at 7:45 a.m. Temperatures in many districts rose to 33 or 34 degrees. The Observatory reminds citizens to replenish fluids in a timely manner and to avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight. It is expected to be generally sunny and persistently very hot over the next two to three days, with maximum temperatures of 33 degrees.
