The Shenzhou-23 crewed spacecraft is poised to be launched at 23:08 tonight. At the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China, the three astronauts, including Hong Kong-born Lai Ka-ying, as well as commander Zhu Yangzhu and teammate Zhang Zhiyuan, were at the set-off ceremony. Large crowds could be seen at the site to send them off. They include the SAR delegation led by Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry Sun Dong. After the ceremony, the three astronauts head to the launch pad where the combination of the Shenzhou-23 crewed spaceship and a Long March-2F carrier rocket stands ready.
