CE video calls Hong Kong's first payload specialist ahead of Shenzhou-23 mission

Chief Executive John Lee conducts a video call with Hong Kong's first payload specialist Lai Ka-ying ahead of the Shenzhou-23 manned spaceflight mission. The crewed spaceship will be launched at 23:08 on Sunday.

The CE released the video call footage on social media this morning. In the call, Lee offers his best wishes to Lai. The Hong Kong astronaut says she is confident the mission can be completed successfully, adding she has never been away from the city for such a long time and looks forward to returning home.

Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry Sun Dong and Secretary for the Civil Service Ingrid Yeung also joined the call.
