The US military said Wednesday it boarded an Iranian-flagged oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman that was suspected of trying to violate the American blockade.

US Central Command said that the M/T Celestial Sea was searched and redirected after being suspected of trying to head to an Iranian port.

It is the 5th commercial vessel to be boarded since Washington imposed the blockade on Iranian shipping
in April.

This after Trump said on Monday that he had called off military strikes on Iran in an effort to make progress in negotiations with Tehran.

When asked on Wednesday, Trump said he is in no hurry to have the Strait of Hormuz opened.

"We'd have to open the strait," said Trump. "That would open immediately. So we are going to give this one shot. I am in no hurry."

"You know, everyone's saying, the mid terms." "I am in a hurry. I am in no hurry. I just ideally, I'd like to see few people killed, as opposed to a lot. We can do it either way, but I'd like to see few people killed."

Meanwhile in Tehran, a ceremony was held to commemorate two past foreign ministers.

The present Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said he was not sure he would survive the see his own farewell ceremony.

He hailed Iranians for holding their ground, and refusing to relinquish their posts or flee the country during US strikes.

Iranian Revolutionary Guard members now regularly show the public how to handle assault rifles.

Weapons are now regularly brandished in the Iranian capital, an increasing show of defiance as Washington threatens to restart the war against Iran.
