US President Donald Trump said Wednesday Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu "will do whatever I want him to do" on Iran.

Asked by reporters what he told Netanyahu about how long the two countries could hold off strikes while negotiations continue, Trump said: "He's fine. He'll do whatever I want him to do. He's a very good man. He'll do whatever I want him to and he's a great guy."

The comments come a day after Trump said he was "an hour away" from ordering strikes against Iran but paused when Gulf allies told him a deal could be close.

Trump also said he's "in no hurry" on making a deal with Iran.
