Nearly 4.22 million visitors came to Hong Kong in April, marking a 10% year-on-year rise. The Hong Kong Tourism Board says the Hong Kong Sevens tournament held last month attracted more international visitors, continuing the growth trend. Long-haul visitors saw a more significant increase, reaching 410,000, up 20%. Mainland visitors accounted for 3.1 million, up 18%, while overseas visitors exceeded 1.1 million, an 8% increase. In the first four months of this year, a total of 18.5 million visitors came to Hong Kong, a 15% bump from last year. The Tourism Board says it will closely monitor the impact of the Middle East situation on air travel capacity and the tourism market, and will allocate resources as needed to attract more high-value visitors.
