The 13th edition of the Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong opens today at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai.
The four-day exhibition is showcasing more than a thousand pieces of artwork.
Take a look.
Memories of Shek Lei Hang Village -- immortalised in these wooden panel paintings.
Artist Manny Yip uses her canvas and paintbrush to document the village she grew up in, which now faces demolition under redevelopment plans, hoping to preserve the collective memories across four generations of her family.
Artist MANNY YIP: "I tried to paint when I walk around the village. I also include the animals, the houses, and their family members in my painting. At the end I tried to put it and stick on the wood that's collected with the materials I grow up in this house."
A curator hopes the exhibition can serve as an international platform for more young Hong Kong artists to develop their careers.
Curator of "Young Talent - No Rise" ZOE CHAN: "In the past we always buy art just for a decoration piece. However, if the art has more meaning to the city, and the nostalgia feeling of the city can really be inspired through art."
This year, the fair introduces a dedicated photography section for the first time, capturing Hong Kong's neon-lit streets to vertigo-inducing cityscapes.
Photographer DERRY AINSWORTH: "A lot of people go to Hong Kong for it's like a big city and it's like a financial hub. But I want to showcase these sorts of neighbourhoods, intimate scenes to show that it's a very vibrant community beneath the city and there's lots of places to take nice pictures other than just the skyscrapers."
The Affordable Art Fair's theme of the year is "See Art. Love Art. Own Art"
Most artworks are priced below 100,000 Hong Kong dollars, and some for far less.
The fair also features works by award-winning artists with autism and hearing impairments.
Director, Affordable Art Fair UK, HUGO BARCLAY: "Hong Kong couldn't be a better place for artistic cross-cultural dialogue, and that can be done through art and through other creative forms."
Fair Director, Affordable Art Fair HK, REGINA ZHANG: "We really wish to be a very accessible platform to artists and also to our visitors. We hope that everyone who comes to the fair will enjoy to see all the artworks on display and have it as part of their life."
Paid interactive workshops are being held at different timeslots throughout the day for participants of all ages, including contemporary ink art and these etching and printmaking experiences.
The four-day exhibition runs until Sunday.
Tickets are priced at 190 dollars, or 160 dollars for seniors and full-time students.
Children under 16 can enter free when accompanied by an adult.
