US Treasury Sec. meets Chinese Vice Premier in Seoul ahead of Trump's Beijing visit

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent arrives in Seoul on Wednesday to meet with China's Vice Premier He Lifeng. 

Both He and Bessent are also scheduled to hold separate meetings with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung.

This comes ahead of US President Donald Trump's visit to China where he will be sitting down for talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping. 

Trump is expected to arrive in Beijing on Wednesday evening and will be engaging in a series of activities including a visit to the Temple of Heaven plus a private tea gathering and a working bilateral lunch with President Xi. 

Bessent and a delegation of top US business leaders including Tesla CEO Elon Musk, and Apple CEO Tim Cook will be joining Trump's Beijing trip, which is scheduled to wrap up on May 15.
