Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow said Saturday that he does not object to peace talks with Ukraine in a third country. Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico had conveyed a message from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressing a desire to meet, Putin told a press briefing on Saturday evening. He said that Russia has no objection to meetings and if Zelensky is willing and is welcome to come to Moscow. Meeting in a third country is also on the table if talks are aimed at signing an peace agreement, Putin says. This follows US Secretary of State Marco Rubio's earlier comments on his country's willingness to mediate between Russia and Ukraine.
