Cathay Pacific Airways will cut fuel surcharges, starting May 16th. Flights between Hong Kong and countries from North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and South West Pacific regions, will see fuel surcharges trimmed from 1,560 to 1,362 dollars. Short-haul flights between Hong Kong and Japan and the mainland will have the levies cut from 389 to 339 dollars. The city's flagship carrier reviews the fuel surcharge every two weeks to better capture jet fuel price movements. This increased frequency is a temporary measure and will be revisited when the Middle East situation stabilises.
