Fire at commercial building in TST

A fire broke out in a commercial building unit in Tsim Sha Tsui. Firefighters responded and extinguished the blaze; no injuries were reported.

The fire occurred in a unit on the fourth floor of the Chun Wah Commercial Building on Minden Avenue. Firefighters received a report around 5 a.m. that smoke was coming from the unit and the fire alarm had sounded. One hose and one team of firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were dispatched to extinguish the fire.

It is understood that the unit belonged to a trading company and was unoccupied at the time of the incident. Firefighters are investigating and believe the fire was caused by an overheated humidifier inside the unit.
