Customs conduct series of operations with FSD and police to crackdown on illegal gas stations

Customs has conducted a series of joint operations with the Fire Services Department and the police to crack down on illegal gas stations, involving 19 cases, seizing more than 20,000 litres of illegal fuel.

The three departments conducted a two-week crackdown on illegal gas stations throughout Hong Kong, seizing 13,000 litres of diesel and 8,000 litres of gasoline, 27 people were arrested. 

At the Heung Yuen Wai border crossing, Customs seized four private cars with modified fuel tanks which attempted to smuggle gasoline into Hong Kong, 

1,200 litres of gasoline were seized. They also raided five illegal mobile gas stations in Lok Fu, Kowloon Bay, Wong Tai Sin, and Tsing Yi.

Police raided a 24-hour illegal gas station disguised as a tin shed near Shing Mun Reservoir.

The Fire Services Department raided four illegal diesel gas stations in Kowloon Bay and Shau Kei Wan, and arrested five people.
