Eastern Section of Fanling Bypass opens

The Fanling Bypass (Eastern Section) opened to motorists at 8 am today.
These vehicles were the first batch to try out the new road. A yellow sign is put up on the side to inform drivers on the directions.
The four-kilometre bypass is a dual two-lane carriageway. It starts at Fanling Highway near Kau Lung Hang in Tai Po, passes through On Lok Tsuen Industrial Area and Lung Yuek Tau Interchange and connects to Shek Wu Tsuen and Fanling North New Development Area.
Drivers travelling on the new route can avoid passing through the town centres of Sheung Shui and Fanling,
saving motorists about 10 minutes during peak hours.
