Former FBI Director James Comey faces indictment again over an online post he shared last May that the US Department of Justice says advocated the assassination of US President Donald Trump. The criminal case is the second in a matter of months against Comey. A social media post of seashells arranged in the numbers '86 47' lands ex-FBI Director James Comey a second indictment. Officials say the post is considered a call to harm President Donald Trump. US Attorney General Todd Blanche confirmed a grand jury indictment against James Comey on two counts relating to making and transmitting threats. Both carry a maximum term of 10 years imprisonment and were brought in the Eastern District of North Carolina where Comey took the photo. "You are not allowed to threaten the president of the United States of America," says Blanche. "That's not my decision. That's Congress's decision in a statute that they passed that we charge multiple times a year." Comey was questioned by Secret Service last May and deleted the post shortly after it was made, writing that he didn't realise some people would associate those numbers with violence and that he opposes violence of any kind. As FBI chief, Comey led the initial stage of the probe into whether the 2016 Trump campaign conspired with Russia to influence the election. Comey was fired by Trump months into the president's first term, and they have openly feuded ever since. Comey's lawyers have yet to respond to a request seeking comment.
