The Hong Kong government is now preparing its first ever Five Year Plan to align with the national Five Year Plan.
Speaking on TVB's Straight Talk programme, Bernard Chan, Chairman of Our Hong Kong Foundation and a former Executive Council convenor explains why Hong Kong needs a Five Year Plan.
Bernard Chan, Chairman of Our Hong Kong Foundation said, "Because we're so used to the one system, the one model that we worked on. So now all these changes are happening. So the big issue is as we integrate, so-called integrate, right, we are integrating with the mainland, Chinese mainland, both economically, socially, not politically, politically we still have the "two systems", but both economically and socially. We are fast integrating with the Chinese mainland. And that requires a lot of mindset changes, both from the administration to the general public. I think that we're still a long way to go. It's natural. I mean, it's all new to us, new to you, new to me as well."
