Worker died in industrial accident involving potential structural component

A 59-year-old male worker died on Wednesday after being struck by a heavy structural component.
The accident happened at Kai Tak Hospital Phase II main construction site at around 5 pm on Wednesday. Police said a male worker was transferring construction parts at the construction site when he was hit by a structural component that weighed about a ton.
He was sent to the United Christian Hospital for treatment and was later pronounced dead.
The Hospital Authority says it's highly concerned about the incident and has asked the China State Construction Engineering, the main contractor to take all necessary measures to ensure site safety.
