China Status Development and Engineering's director mentioned in the hearing that the company is also the fire contractor of Mayland Court in Causeway Bay.
TVB News went to the estate and found that the renovation work had been completed. Mayland Court started its renovation project in 2024. A security guard recalled that the FSD had inspected the estate in October and didn't spot any abnormalities with the fire services equipment.
