Hospital Authority: a man arrested following a data breach involving more than 56,000 patients

Police have reportedly arrested a man allegedly linked to an earlier data breach at the Hospital Authority, involving more than 56,000 patients in the Kowloon East hospital cluster.
It is understood that the suspect is a 30-year-old employee of a contractor linked to the system involved.
Last Friday, an account tracking cybercrime wrote on social media that the patient information from the Hospital Authority has been leaked on the dark web.
The Hospital Authority later issued a press release the information leaked includes ID card numbers, hospital file numbers and surgical details.
HA has also suspended the contractor's system maintenance work.
