Secretary for Security Chris Tang says since its launch in 2020, the National Security Division's hotline has received a total of 1.2 million reports.

Authorities will follow up on the tip-offs for investigations.

April 15 has been designated as the National Security Education Day, and has now entered its 11th year.

Tang reveals that on that day, a thematic seminar will be held featuring speeches by national leaders and panel discussions on national security issues.

The Police College will conduct a flag-raising ceremony, and more than 650 schools with some 130,000 students will take part in a national security quiz, marking the highest participation to date.

He stresses that Hong Kong continues to face national security risks, including ongoing smear campaigns by external hostile forces.

Authorities will strengthen responses such as improving intelligence systems, countering misinformation, and refining the law and enforcement mechanisms.

He says since the national security law came into effect, 389 people have been arrested, 208 prosecuted and 179 convicted.
