Asian stocks rallied after investors welcomed the two-week ceasefire between the US and Iran. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index -- back from a long holiday weekend -- surged 776 points or 3 percent and closed at 25,893. Tech stocks streaked ahead. The mainland's blue-chip CSI300 Index jumped 3.5 percent, its biggest daily gain since October 2024. An investment strategist at Saxo Charu Chanana says today's rally looks broader than a pure geopolitical relief trade, citing the jump in Hong Kong property stocks as a sign that investors are reacting to improving demand. Around the region, South Korea's KOSPI up 6.87 percent. Japan's Nikkei 225 index finished 5.39 percent higher.
