1 dead and 2 injured in Israeli consulate attack in Istanbul

A gunfight erupted outside of the Israeli consulate in Istanbul leaving one attacker dead and two others injured.
The engagement lasted for 10 minutes as gunshots were exchanged between police officers and the three attackers.
At least one of them was armed with an automatic rifle.
Two police officers were injured during the incident.
None of the consulate staff were in the complex at the time of the attack, as the facility has been vacated for two and a half years since the start of the Israel-Hamas war in 2023.
Turkish authorities said the attackers were linked to an organisation that "exploits religion", and that two of them were brothers.
