A US Democratic House Representative moves to impeach Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth over his role in the ongoing conflict with Iran.
US House Representative Yassamin Ansari, who is of Iranian descent, says she will introduce articles of impeachment against Hegseth next week.
Ansari accused Hegseth of violating his oath of office and acting outside constitutional authority in relation to military actions linked to the Trump administration.
She said Hegseth's war crimes, including bombing a girls' school and targeting civilian infrastructure, are grounds for impeachment.
Some Democratic lawmakers reportedly say the issue is not currently under discussion within the party.
