Businessman Jason Poon was sentenced to a month in prison for having made abusive remarks against Labour Tribunal judicial officers. Poon was said to have called the officers "rubbish" on his YouTube channel and posted screenshots of trial transcripts on his Facebook page. He signed an undertaking which restricts the use of the transcripts for proceedings. Poon pleaded guilty to contempt of court. Apart from a one-month prison term, the businessman has to shoulder the prosecution cost of more than 262,000 dollars. He was released on 50,000-dollar cash bail after applying for a stay of execution of his sentence, pending appeal -- which was granted by the judge.
