The sales ban of mini konjac jelly cups kicked off yesterday. But TVB News found that the products were still available for purchase at a Sham Shui Po shop.

Following our news report, the Centre for Food Safety says it had instructed the relevant shop to remove the goods from shelves.

After the ban came into effect, konjac-containing jelly products coming in cups with heights and widths of under 45 millimetres cannot be sold in Hong Kong to avoid choking incidents.

In response to the inquiry, the CFS says that it had immediately dispatched personnel to inspect the shop in question and found that the shop was selling the illegal products, and had instructed the shop to remove the illegal products from the shelves and would prosecute the non-compliance.
