A jet landing at New York's LaGuardia Airport collided with a fire truck on the runway killing the pilot and copilot and injuring several others.
The crash temporarily shutdown the airport, the New York region's third busiest hub.
The crash occurred around 11.45 p.m Sunday when an Air Canada regional jet arriving from Montreal and carrying 72 passengers and four crew
struck an airport fire truck traveling across the runway responding to a separate incident aboard another plane.

An National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) spokesperson described the scene adding how they were able to retrieve the data recorder from the wreckage.
Michael Rousseau, Air Canada president and CEO said the airline is focusing its efforts on the needs of passengers and crew members and of their families.
