Hong Kong reports the first local invasive meningococcal infection after the outbreak in the UK. The patient is a three-year-old boy. Now in serious condition, the three-year-old boy with no travel history during the incubation period developed a fever and started vomiting on Tuesday. He was taken to Kwong Wah Hospital the following day and was later confirmed to be infected with meningitis. The CHP has logged four cases of invasive meningococcal infection this year so far. A total of 11 cases were recorded last year. The recent outbreak of invasive meningococcal infection in Kent, in the UK saw 29 people infected, including two fatalities.
