Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi landed at Andrews Air Force Base Wednesday evening ahead of the meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House. The prime minister acknowledged before she left Japan that she expects her meeting with Trump will be "very difficult." However, she and her ministers have denied that Washington officially requested Japanese warships for the US-Israeli operation in Iran. Takaichi had sought to focus on trade, strengthening the US-Japan relationship and security concerns. Takaichi had her first meeting with Trump late October in Tokyo.
