Ministry of Transport summoned shipping firms Maersk & Mediterranean Shipping Co

Beijing’s Ministry of Transport has summoned the heads of shipping firms Maersk and Mediterranean Shipping Company on Monday to discuss international shipping business practices, a Ministry statement said on Tuesday.

It is unclear whether the meeting is related to the two companies taking over the operation of two ports in the Panama Canal last month. CK Hutchison had previously notified Maersk that taking over the ports without CK Hutchison's consent would cause damage to CK Hutchison, Hutchison Ports, and Panama Ports Corporation, and warned of possible legal action.
