National People's Congress holds 2nd plenary meeting

The 14th National People's Congress held its second plenary meeting in Beijing, with President Xi Jinping and other state leaders in attendance.

Zhao Leji, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee delivered a work report on the work of the overhaul of laws and the proposed handling of certain laws and decisions. 

According to the report, planned legislation for the coming year covers transnational corruption, finance and state-owned assets.

There will also be a focus on developing a legal framework for emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence.
