Gov't provides $6.15 million to family of fireman who died in Tai Po fire

The government has provided HK$6.15 million in financial assistance to the family of Ho Wai-ho, a firefighter who died in the Wang Fuk Court fire in Tai Po.

Ho Wai-ho, 37, died last year while on a search and rescue mission during the Wang Fuk Court fire. In Tai Po.

Under the "Financial Assistance Scheme for Families of Those Who Sacrifice Themselves to Save Lives," the government has provided HK$6.15 million to his family. 

The chairman of the committee responsible for approval, Secretary for Labour and Welfare Chris Sun, said the financial assistance is a recognition of Ho Wai-ho's heroic, fearless, and selfless spirit.
