Girl attacked by lion in Shantou zoo

A young girl had a lucky escape when she was attacked by a lion at a zoo in the Guangdong city of Shantou.
The online video shows the lion reaching its paw through the gap between the bars of the iron cage and forcefully pulling at the girl's lower leg and clothing outside the cage, trying to drag her into the enclosure.
A man wearing a black top pulled her back with force and struck the lion's paw with a stick.
After a struggle that lasted nearly half a minute, the girl was finally rescued.
Mainland media reported that the incident occurred at the zoo in Zhongshan Park, Shantou.
The girl suffered minor injuries and was sent to hospital for treatment.
