Affected by the situation in Iran, multiple airports in the Middle East have suspended flights. The Airport Authority said that as of 11 a.m., nine flights today have been affected, and the earliest flights may resume on Tuesday. The travel industry said it is studying how to respond.

Flights between Hong Kong and the Middle East have seen delays or cancellations since Saturday.

The Airport Authority said that on Saturday, five flights were cancelled and one was delayed.

Among them, Cathay Pacific flights to Dubai and Riyadh on Saturday showed that they were unable to depart.

Cathay arranged one night of hotel accommodation for affected passengers and also opened additional counters to assist passengers on those two flights.

Passengers can choose a free refund, or change to tickets departing on Tuesday or Wednesday. It is understood that more than 500 passengers have been affected.
