MTR will allow dogs in heavy rail for the first time on Sunday.
The MTR has already allowed passengers to take cats and dogs to travel in the Light Rail on a limited scale.
Sunday's event will be held in conjunction with the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals' "Dogathon 2026" with 1,200 slots available.
Passengers with dogs will be required to pre-register and donate HK$90.
Dogs were required to wear a leash for identification and must use the last carriage of trains and remain in that carriage for the entire journey.
