New York Police initiate investigation into snowball attack on officers

The New York Police Department said they would be investigating a massive snowball fight at Washington Square Park in Manhattan, after officers were pelted with snowballs.
In the video, two officers were overwhelmed by a crowd of people throwing snowballs after one of the officers catches up to a young person running away from them and is shoved to the ground by the officer.
In a press briefing, New York's Mayor Zohran Mamdani said he is appreciative of the work the NYPD have been doing in response to the snowstorm.
However, he said he would treat the incident as a snowball fight that got out of hand.
NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch had said the behaviour as shown in the video were "disgraceful" and "criminal."
