U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff says U.S. President Donald Trump is curious as to why Iran has not capitulated as American naval presence has increased in the Middle East.

Steve Witkoff, US special envoy speaking on Fox News Channel's My View with Lara Trump said: "The president asked me that this morning and he's- I don't want to use the word frustrated it's almost because he, he understands he's got plenty of alternatives but he's curious as to why they haven't I don't want to use the word capitulated, but why they haven't capitulated. Why under this sort of pressure with the amount of sea power, naval power that we have over there, why they have come to us and said, we profess that we don't wanna be, we don't want a weapon, so here's what we're prepared to do, and yet it's hard to sort of get them to that place."

Scuffles were seen as groups of students at several universities in Iran staged anti-government protests. Opposing groups were seen chanting pro and anti-government chants while pushing each other.

The footage of these protests emerged ahead of the next round of talks between the United States and Iran on Thursday in Geneva, Oman's foreign minister said Sunday, shortly after Tehran's top diplomat said he expected to meet U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff.
