Legislators voice concerns over Wang Chi House excluded in title acquisition

The Legislative Council's panel on housing held a special meeting today to discuss the long-term rehousing arrangement for Wang Fuk Court residents.
Some lawmakers voiced concerns over the homeowners of the intact Wang Chi House, which is not included in the acquisition plan.
While many legislators expressed their support for the government's buyout proposal, some reported inquiries from residents of Wang Chi House.
Dominic Lee from the New People's Party said they may face issues regarding property value, resale difficulties and loss of communal facilities.
Another lawmaker Peter Shiu asked how the authorities would handle heirs who cannot complete probate before the deadline of confirming title acquisition.
Deputy Financial Secretary Michael Wong said the rehousing scheme will remain open to residents who cannot complete the process by the end of August.
