The annual World Economic Forum meeting is taking place in Davos, Switzerland. Financial Secretary Paul Chan arrived yesterday and met with Oman's Economic Minister. During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to deepen cooperation in areas, such as finance, trade, green transformation and industrial development. Chan noted Oman is transitioning from an oil-driven growth model towards a more diversified economic structure, with active efforts to promote green transformation and renewable energy, while fostering its economic and investment ties with China. The finance chief also attended the welcome reception of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting, where he engaged with participants from around the globe. Under the theme "A Spirit of Dialogue," the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting calls on the international community to rebuild trust through constructive dialogue. A report released by the Forum indicates the multilateral system is still under pressure and uncertainties remain persistent. It also notes the application of artificial intelligence continues to impact the global economy. The WEF annual meeting runs from the 19th to 23rd of January with participants coming from more than 130 countries or regions.
