Hong Kong will host the Interpol Annual General Meeting for the first time this year, with over a thousand senior police officers and ministerial-level officials from around the world expected to attend. INTERPOL (International Criminal Police Organization) is the world's largest international police organisation. In a newspaper interview, Commissioner of Police Joe Chow said the meeting, to be held in November, will discuss joint efforts to combat transnational crime and strengthen international cooperation. He said the Chief Executive attaches great importance to this meeting and has established a three-tiered structure, with the Chief Secretary for Administration, the Secretary for Security, and the Commissioner of Police coordinating internal working groups and related meetings, leveraging experience in organizing large-scale events in recent years to ensure smooth coordination. Interpol was founded in 1923, and the Hong Kong Police Force joined in 1960. It currently has 196 members.
