North Korea launched multiple ballistic missiles towards the sea, according to South Korea and Japan.
Seoul's Joint Chiefs of Staff said that it detected several ballistic missiles launched from North Korea's capital region around 7.50a.m. on Sunday. Meanwhile, the official Korean Central News Agency said North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visited a weapons factory to review multipurpose precision guided weapons produced there.
The agency cited Kim as ordering officials to expand the current production capacity by about 2.5 times.
Last Sunday North Korea also test-fired what it called long-range strategic cruise missiles.
