Channel Tunnel partially reopens but Eurostar still affected

Operator of trains between London, Paris and other European destination, Eurostar, said the Channel Tunnel was partially reopening Tuesday afternoon, but with only one of its two train lines operating. 

This after power problems and a stuck train interrupted rail services through the undersea tunnel connecting the UK with continental Europe. 

Some Eurostar services assumed in the evening, but It is expected that delays would continue. The operator advised passengers to rebook their journeys on other days. 

Many passengers were stranded on both sides of the Channel during the busy end-of-year holidays, and some were frustrated enough to try to book plane or bus tickets.
