Man fined 180,000 dollars for removing structural wall in unit

A Lohas Park owner was fined 180,000 dollars for violating the Buildings Ordinance.
The sentencing was held at Kwun Tong Magistrates' Courts.
The owner, Ku Chun-ho, was said to have removed a structural wall during renovation at his Lohas Park unit in Tseung Kwun O in 2023.
He also drilled a hole on the wall for door installation.
The Buildings Department later prosecuted the owner for knowingly conducting building works without approval or consent and performing works in a manner likely to cause risk of injury to persons or damage to property.
The man denied the charges.
