The Hong Kong Observatory has cancelled all tropical cyclone warning signals at 8:20 p.m., including the No. 1 Standby Signal.
The strong monsoon signal is now in effect.
The forecaster says the outer rainbands of the tropical depression will continue to bring showers and squally thunderstorms to the territory.
Showers will be heavy at times.
