Cheung Sha Wan seafood restaurant shuts down leaving employees unpaid

Cheung Sha Wan's Glorious Chinese Restaurant has suddenly shut its doors today, leaving more than 50 employees seeking assistance from labour unions.
They were owed approximately 7 million dollars in wages and severance pay.
The restaurant's front door remained locked with lights turned off throughout the day at the restaurant, while a recruitment notice was still displayed outside.
This as the Eating Establishment Employees General Union said the restaurant initially found that the restaurant did not apply for liquidation.
The union further noted employees were only notified of the winding up of the restaurant at the last minute.
