U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff is in Gaza to inspect food distribution sites.

Witkoff will report back to U.S. President Donald Trump after fierce international criticism of Israel's strict control over aid for Palestinians with accusations of "tactical starvation."

Trump admits people are "very hungry" and need to be fed.

Hours before Steve Witkoff's arrival, smoke billowing into the sky in Gaza.

The war continues, U.S and Israeli delegations pulled out of peace talks last week.

Later, in the sky, not bombs -parachutes.

Planes dropping food into Deir al-Balah as Palestinian officials say this is making merely incremental change.

Many parcels end up in inaccessible areas or aid is damaged.

Despite this trickle of help more action on aid could follow from Witkoff's visit once he reports back to Donald Trump.

The President sent Witkoff, first to Israel to meet Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and then on to Gaza to witness what is going on with accusations of deliberate starvation, Israel's military firing on food queues and UN experts saying famine is unfolding with thousands malnourished.

Officials say more than 90 were killed seeking aid during the previous day.

The IDF attack followed intensive strikes on Gaza City with multiple explosions in close proximity.

These are the fortunate ones.

Hustle and bustle as they carry back sacks of flour from a food distribution site near those explosions.

Some spoke of a lucky escape.

Twenty-three-year-old Rakan says shooting broke out at the Zikim crossing where aid was allowed in by Israel, the gunshots caused a rush and scuffles broke out causing the Israelis to fire more shots.

There are hundreds of sacks here taken on foot or carried trucks but supplies are far lower than what is required.

Israelis are angry too as seen at these protests in Tel Aviv.

One attendee, Keren Klass says: "I don't believe in collective punishments. I don't believe that starvation is ever an okay tactic to use in war. And I really wish Israel would do better. My conscience won't let me rest."

Theses angry people, waiving pictures of starving children, want the return of hostages, a stop to the conflict and an end to suffering and starvation.
