A 19-year-old woman was arrested in connection with a fraud case, involving impersonation of auxiliary police officers. The victim in the case was allegedly defrauded of 500,000 dollars.

Forged auxiliary police appointment ID cards and cash were seized during the operation.

The police received a report from a 61-year-old woman, saying that she had received a call claiming to be a mainland police officer.

The suspect claimed that the woman's relatives and friends on the mainland had been arrested in a criminal case and asked her to pay a bail of 500,000 yuan.

The victim was later asked to shell out another 1 million-yuan bail, which prompted suspicion. The 61-year-old then called the police.

After investigation, the police arrested a 19-year-old Hong Kong student for allegedly obtaining property by deception and impersonating the police.

The police believe that more fraud syndicates are taking advantage of the summer vacation to recruit young people who want to earn quick money, and are reminding young people to be vigilant when looking for jobs.
