Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Guo Jiakun reiterates commitment to promoting peace talks in Myanmar.
As a friendly neighbour of Myanmar, China is attaching great importance and is greatly following the situation in Myanmar. We support Myanmar's effort in upholding peace and solidarity, and we support Myanmar in finding the development path suited to its national conditions and proceed its domestic process of peace. We also support Myanmar in political settlement of disputes under the framework of international law. China upholds the principle of non-interference in domestic affairs, and in light of the need of Myanmar, China stands ready to play a role in promoting talks for peace and play a constructive role for de-escalation in Myanmar.
