The Legislative Council has approved new fixed penalties for a series of traffic violations, effective from the first day of next year.
The fixed penalty for illegal parking will be increased from 320 to 400 dollars.
The penalty range for speeding, currently between 320 and 1,000 dollars, will be raised to between 480 and 1,500 dollars.
Meanwhile, drivers who enter a yellow box illegally will have to pay 600 dollars, 200 dollars more than the current penalty.
