NBC News learns new details about the Midtown Manhattan shooting that killed four people including a police officer and the gunman.

The gunman was a 27-year-old from Las Vegas who drove across the country and used an AR15-style rifle to burst into the Manhattan building where he started shooting inside the lobby.

The attack forced office workers to barricade themselves into their offices.
