The Construction Industry Council has suspended the registration of the contractor and subcontractors involved in the fatal industrial accident on Sunday at the Queen Mary Hospital redevelopment site.
The Construction Industry Council said that the three registered companies involved were all on the council's list of registered subcontractors.
It had issued written notices to them to immediately suspend the registration qualifications of the three companies involved.
The companies are required to conduct an independent safety audit and submit improvement plans and implementation measures until the committee is satisfied. At the site of the new clinical building of Queen Mary Hospital, a 57-year-old male worker was working in a lift shaft on Sunday when he was crushed by a lift and died.
