First Chikungunya case found in Shenzhen

Shenzhen has recorded its first Chikungunya case. Chikungunya is a mosquito-borne viral disease.
Shenzhen's Centre for Disease Control and Prevention said a total of 2,940 Chikungunya cases had been detected in Guangdong Province as of Saturday.
Shenzhen, Qingyuan and Zhangjiang have each recorded a case, while Foshan remains the hardest-hit location with 2,882 Chikungunya infections.
All patients have shown mild symptoms, including joint pains and mild fever.
Authorities remind the public to drain mosquito-breeding stagnant water to prevent the spread of the disease.
